Can audio interface Power headphones?
Most cheap audio interfaces have pretty abysmal headphone amps – lots of distortion and channel crosstalk, high output impedance, not much power.

Can you use audio interface outputs directly for headphones?
Additionally, in most cases, the output does not vary with a volume control. Some devices have a variable output (labeled as such) but it is still a very low level signal. If connecting to RCA outputs, yes, you’d want to use a headphone amplifier. Your audio interface headphone out usually good enough.
Do you need a mic for an audio interface?
Most audio interface would have a line level input. For microphones, you’ll need an audio interface that have a mic pre-amp built in. Also check if the audio interface has Phantom Power as you’ll need it to run condenser microphones.
How many jacks does an audio interface need?
Most interfaces have at least 2 quarter-inch jack outputs to connect to studio monitors, and at least 2 inputs for either a microphone or direct line input. Of course, more can be useful depending on your needs.
What should I look for in an audio interface?
With the possible exception of computer connectivity (more on that below), no other feature is as important for choosing your audio interface as its I/O (input and output) configuration. The number and type of inputs and outputs you need depends entirely on what you want to be able to record, now and in the future.
