How many bytes is Base64?
Each Base64 digit represents exactly 6 bits of data. So, three 8-bits bytes of the input string/binary file (3×8 bits = 24 bits) can be represented by four 6-bit Base64 digits (4×6 = 24 bits).
What is Base64 URL?
Base64 is a group of binary-to-text encoding schemes that represent binary data in an ASCII string format by translating it into a radix-64 representation. By consisting only of ASCII characters, base64 strings are generally url-safe, and that’s why they can be used to encode data in Data URLs.
Is SHA256 base64?
A base16-encoded string will always be twice as big as the original; a base64-encoded string will only be four thirds as big. For a SHA256 hash, base16 does 64 bytes, but base64 does approximately 43.
What is the formula to convert hex to decimal?

Here’s how to calculate it, just as you would in long division: Multiply your last answer by the divisor. In our example, 1 x 256 = 256. (In other words, the 1 in our hexadecimal number represents 256 in base 10). Subtract your answer from the dividend.
Why is base64 encode?
Base64 encoding is commonly used when there is a need to transmit binary data over media that do not correctly handle binary data and is designed to deal with textual data belonging to the 7-bit US-ASCII charset only.
