Are God rays normal in VR?
Yes, all Rifts have god rays. It’s normal. The Rift uses a fresnel lens (basically a lens with very fine ridges) and light gets scattered as it hits the edges of these ridges. Adjusting the headset fit can reduce the intensity, but they’ll still be there.
What are Angel rays?
The white angel light ray represents the purity and harmony that come from holiness. This ray is part of the metaphysical system of angel colors based on seven different light rays: blue, yellow, pink, white, green, red, and purple.
Which is better for god rays cycles or Eevee?
The thing Eevee kicks Cycles’ butt at is rendering ‘god rays’, where light is projected through a volume. While Eevee is less accurate, it looks good enough for most cases and is completely noise free. You can even add 3D textures to make it even more interesting. Complex volumes, however, are another story.
What’s the difference between Eevee and Ray Traced?
Utilizing all the bells and whistles at our disposal. Eevee is unique in that it is compatible with its brother ray-traced engine Cycles. They share a common shader system while lighting and render settings are separate. But the render engines are more and more developed to match each other in look and feel.
How are sample rays used in eeevee renders?
If you are used to Cycles, you know that for each sample rays are cast into the scene from the camera to bounce around and gather data to end up at a color value for each pixel. The more samples we use the more data is collected and the more accurate the final color will be. In Eeevee the samples are used in a process called Temporal Anti-Aliasing.
How does Eevee work with screen space reflections?
Eevee uses a couple tricks to try to mimic this, but of course it still ends up a ways away from accuracy. Screen space reflections work by taking the resulting image from the camera and flipping it around.
