Can an SSL certificate expire?
Security certificates do expire, as they carry validity periods. These dates are an important way of providing assurance to the security of SSL. The validity period regulates and confirms server authenticity that allows your web browser to understand the identity of the server.
To help ensure that all certificates are using the latest security standards and in fact controlled by the current certificate owner, we expire them. New certificates are issued using the latest security standards, processes and a re-confirmation of domain control and organization identity.

How can I check the validity of my SSL certificate?

The validity period that is defined in the registry affects all certificates that are issued by Stand-alone and Enterprise CAs.
