Can I delete Google Photos from my Google Drive?
We have made it simpler to understand with the following steps:
- Step 1 – Open Google Drive in your favorite web browser on your PC.
- Step 2 – On your Google Drive homepage& go to the photo that you want to delete.
- Step 3 – Click on the Trash icon to remove the photo from your Google Drive.
Why is there a Google Photos folder in my Google Drive?
Google Drive Sync is part of the “Backup & Sync from Google” app which maybe installed on your computer (modern Mac or Windows) and activated for your account. If so, there also is a Google Drive folder on your C-drive containing that Google Photos folder.
Can I delete Google Photos Backup folder?
Open the Google Photos app. Once your photos have been synced, switch Backup & sync off. Then go back to your Settings and select Free up device storage. This will delete any synced photos from your photo gallery.

What happens when you delete a folder in Google Photos?
Any changes you make in Photos will only apply to Photos. For example, if you delete or edit a photo or folder in Google Drive, the change will not happen in Google Photos. When the folder was synced, it has always been safe to delete the entire folder.
