Can I have multiple networks?
Windows features a Bridge Connections command, which allows you to access two separate networks on a single PC. How to separate a Class C network into two VLANs?
Let’s say I have a class C network 192.168.0.0 and have hosts from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.50, and they are all connected to a switche. If I want to separate the hosts on this network into 2 VLANs, I would change the VLAN setting on each ports.
Can you have two VLANs on the same port?
On the Extreme side the way we would allow two VLANs on the same port is either tagging one VLAN (802.1Q) or by using protocol based VLANs. Protocol based VLANs allows for the switch port to determine which VLAN the traffic is destined for by protocol type only. Having two VLANs both untagged with no protocol match is not supported.
