First of all, there are coilover sleeves. These are basically the first element that’s more advanced than lowering springs. They can be height adjusted and although they usually fit on stock shocks, it is not recommended to use them in this combination. Next up, there are non shock adjustable coilovers.

Try to mount the coilover shock as far out on the axle as possible. This will help with clearance issues that come into play during articulation. Keep enough diameter space to fit a 3.5″ or 4.0″ (Outside Diameter) spring on the shock for 2.0 & 2.5″ shocks, respectively. Also note any upper shock mount restrictions, like the hood or fenders.
