Can I use Baofeng UV-5R on Murs?
Yes & No. The Baofeng is capable of transmitting on FRS/GMRS & MURS. But its not legal to do so (except maybe on GMRS with a license). And no frequency is “secure” as in “private” with any handheld radio that I’ve ever seen.
Can Baofeng UV-5R be used for GMRS?

Are there any UV 5R radios in the market?
Currently Amcrest markets only one UV5R series radio, the UV-5R V2+. The UV-5R V2+ is incapable of operating at a power level above it specified equipment authorization, but that model could still operate on restricted frequencies.
