Can multiple users have the same IP address?
The Question As I understand it, two computers cannot have the same public (external) IP address unless they are connected via the same router. If they are connected via the same router, then they can have (share) the same public IP address yet have different private (local) IP addresses.
In theory, that’s only to a particular IP address; they could have another 65,536 computers using those ports to connect to another IP address. In sum, if you got 100,000 requests from the same IP, then they are probably from less than 100,000 computers.

Go to Solution. Nobody ever got “banned” for having someone else use the same IP – there must just not be any interaction between the two accounts. There may be a need for ID verification. Never log into eaach other’s accounts, do not hire each other, and if anyone from Upwork asks any questions, just answer them.
