Can shadows be curved?
The curved shadow effect is physically possible. The image below shows one of the ways it is possible which is if the surface isn’t flat and has a slight curve with the focal point being the center of the object on the surface.
What does your shadow look like on a curved surface?
Wherever you have a curved surface, it is more than likely to have a gradient shadow on it. Yet you will have a sharp edged and ‘flat’ shadow on either one of the sides. The cube however looks as if it is caught in direct sunlight, which casts a strong shadow. It has a much lighter look overall.

Why does Shadow follow the shape of an object?
