Can we add help Text to standard field Salesforce?
While help text on standard fields is “resolved”, per Salesforce Support, you still can’t create help text for a standard “record name” field (on a standard object or on a custom object). According to Salesforce’s explanation of help text for standard fields, it seems that one should be able to do this.

Not exactly an efficient way but we were able to get our work done. Here’s a workaround: You can create a custom field to hold the help text. Make it a text field and enter your help info as the default value. Then put it on the page layout right next to the standard field.
