Can you join attribute data to a raster?
You can work with raster attribute tables similarly to regular tables, such as previewing them in ArcCatalog and editing them in ArcMap. You can join other tables to them, calculate fields, sort fields, and export them.
How do you add a raster to an attribute table?
To add a raster attribute table in ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 and above:
- In ArcMap or ArcCatalog, click ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Raster > Raster Dataset > Copy Raster.
- In the Copy Raster window, Pixel Type (optional) drop-down, select the 32_BIT_SIGNED integer.

- Choose the Manual table type option.
- Click the Generate button.

Is attribute data and qualitative data the same?

When a raster attribute table is generated, there are three default fields created in the table: OID, VALUE, and COUNT. It is not possible to edit the content in these fields.
What happens if you overwrite a raster attribute table?
If you have an existing table and you do not check Overwrite, the table will be updated. No fields will be deleted, but the values in the table will be up to date.
