Go to a site>click on Pages in the navigation bar to access the Site Pages library>find the Return to classic SharePoint at the bottom>click on it>click on + New to add a classic site page. 3. Click on Insert>Link>From Address>copy the network shared folder link.

- In a shared drive, choose an option:
- At the top, click Share .
- (Optional) To specify what people can do with your file or folder when you share it, under your organization name, click Change:
- Click Copy link.
- Click Done.
- Paste the link in an email, on a website, or wherever you need to share it.

- Copy the link at the top of the sharing settings.

Can a shared drive link work in SharePoint Online?
Here’s their reply: “\\servername\\folder will not work in SharePoint online. Shared Drive in your network is the Shared resources in your domain network. In SharePoint online you can only add the link with fully qualified domain.
The links work perfectly for me on my computer. Click the hyperlinked word in the SharePoint page and it opens the appropriate file/folder in the local shared drive. It does NOT work for anyone else and I can’t figure out why. They click on the link and nothing happens.
Sharepoint 365 linking to network location not working with Chrome I am trying to have a sharepoint (365) page link to several network files. Why are my SharePoint links not working on Chrome?
We were having the same issue for SharePoint links to shared drives. Was able to fix by using the ‘IE Tab’ extension installed on Chrome and Edge. Provided users instructions on how to configure the IE tab to automatically open using the “Auto URLs” setting in the extension.
