Can you mix 16GB and 8GB RAM sticks?
Yes, you can mix different size ram together. You’ll want to try to match the CAS latency, timings, and speed though!
Can I use 2 8GB and 1 16GB RAM?
In most cases if you want to add more RAM, you should make sure that the RAM is of the same manufacturer, and has the same speeds. Like the latency’s and MHz for instance. The amount of RAM that you’re adding doesn’t matter a whole lot if you at least make sure that they are the same speeds.
Is it better to have 2 RAM sticks or 1?
These adjustments when subjected to higher loads will make the memory sub-system reliable. Eventually, installing four sticks of 2GB RAM is always better than using two sticks of 4GB RAM or a single 8GB RAM module. In addition to being reliable, the increase in the number of sticks will make the system faster.
Can I have 3 sticks of RAM?
To answer your question yes you can use three sticks of ram, however you will not get the maximum performance from it like you will from matched pairs in dual channel. For stability & performance, never mix sets and always configure in dual channel mode.
Can a 8GB stick be upgraded to 16GB?
The point of this is to later upgrade the 8GB sticks to 16GB sticks. Before someone comments that 64GB is overkill, I almost never game, this is a workstation for video editing, VFX, 3D Modeling/Rendering, CAD, SolidWorks Simulations, etc. Yes i am very important.
Can you use 2x16gb and 2x8gb Ram?
Cooler Master masterbox lite 3.1 Im 99% sure that you can only have the same RAM sticks. For example you would need another 2x8GB of the same sticks you have atm to get to 32gb. They’ll operate at the lowest frequency of the two pairs and the higher (worse) CAS timings but they should work without much issue.

They’ll operate at the lowest frequency of the two pairs and the higher (worse) CAS timings but they should work without much issue. I think you should still get dual-channel operation out of the sticks but I’m not 100% on that.
What’s the difference between one ram stick and another?
GamersNexus explains it’s mainly 2-5% difference in most instances. Same for productivity, with the exception of massively RAM dependant, at 20-50% change (synthetic, so no idea what would actually do that kind of workload). Get what you can afford, get the other stick later.
