Can you put different amp hour batteries in parallel?
No, you can’t connect batteries of different Ah in series with a good result. However you can connect batteries of different Ah in parallel using diodes. As stated already you should only connect batteries of same type/age/brand in series. In parallel you should use diodes to connect the batteries to the UPS.
Can I mix different Ah batteries?
You cannot connect batteries of different amp-hours in series with good results. We strongly recommend you DO NOT attempt to mix battery sizes (amp-hours) and connect together. This will cause the highest voltage battery to charge the lowest voltage battery attempting to create balance in the circuit.

The only way it’s feasible, is to build 2, separate battery banks, and once a week, after a full charge, switch to the other bank, and run off it for a week. You may have to reprogram your charge controller to a different voltage for each brand of batteries.
