Can you see how long a missed call was?
In the Phone > Recents Menu there is a complete list of call history. Missed calls are in red. If you tap the blue arrow on the right it will give you incoming/outgoing and the exact date. There is no way to determine length, though.
Does a call go through if you hang up before it rings?
If you can hang up before it ring, then the call will not be see on their end.
