Can you use 2 different amp hour batteries in parallel?
You can connect your different amp hour rated batteries together in parallel as long as they are of the same type. This is to ensure the charge profile selected on the BCDC is suitable for both batteries.
Can use higher amperage battery?
In short, using batteries with extra energy capacity will not harm your device, but would, instead, power the device for a longer time (all other considerations unchanged).
Does amperage matter in batteries?
In general, the higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. If your battery is rechargeable then the mAh rating is how long the battery will last per charge.
How does amperage affect battery?
Current doesn’t affect battery. Current is an electron flow which carries energy through electrons to the cells of battery. Then cells in battery stores that energy for power up phones. Load(Smartphone) takes only what amount of current it needs, even if you apply more current than it requires.
Which is more important volts or amps?
As important as amps and volts are when considering on which you should place more emphasis, is the use. If it’s hanging curtain rods, low amp and low voltage should serve you well. If it’s for big indoor and outdoor projects, higher voltage and lower amperage could be the best bet.
Can you change the amperage of a battery?
A difference in voltage is no reason to rule out a replacement battery, although the difference should be somewhat small. A difference in amperage will simply dictate the runtime of the battery, and can be altered according to the consumer’s needs.
Can a battery be used for more than one ampere?
There is no guarantee that the current is balanced in any way. At any given point, it could be drawn from only one battery, balancing out charge imbalances in the 12V grids. This means, maximum current drawn is the max current of any given battery. Another important reason not to use the small batteries.
Why do different types of batteries have the same voltage?
They can have different capacities on account of size or age, but the same chemistry (e.g. all flooded lead acid or all AGM). Before you start charging, the voltage across each of them is the same–even if one is fully charged and the others aren’t. Charge will flow from one battery to the other two until they’re balanced.
Can you connect batteries of different amps in series?
They will cause more problems than they are worth, contributing only 15% anyway. Then make two grids of 2x 20Ah and 1x 55Ah each, put these in serial after you charged each battery with a reliable charger separately. During use, monitor the batteries to make sure your use case works with the parallel setup.
