Do alarms still ring with ringer off?
Regardless of whether you’ve turned off your iPhone’s ringer or turned your iPhone on silent and chose to only have it vibrate, any alarms you set will still sound aloud.

In the client, the most it looks like you can do at the moment is in the settings > calls and if unanswered push to Voicemail/Call Group/New Number or do nothing and set this to 10 seconds. However, that is still a period of disruption. There is currently an open Uservoice for this here to suppress the second incoming call.

Can you turn off the silent ring on pickup?
It can’t be the silent ring on pickup setting. I use the Verizon cover/holster and have the silent ring on pickup on. The holster is setup so the the phone faces inward and is flush facing the holster. If the proximity sensor would activate in that situation. the phone would never ring, but it does. Same would apply to laying it face down.
Why does my Android phone not ring in my car?
