Do amps make a big difference?
It’s possible for two amps with slightly different wattage ratings to sound different, but all things being equal, they won’t produce a different volume. A better amp will make your speakers play louder and sound better, but it won’t make bad speakers sound like good speakers.
Does a better amplifiers sound better?
No, amplifiers don’t improve sound quality. They just increase the signals to required levels. However if amplifiers have equaliser or other signal processing facility, they can make it sound different and possibly more suitable for listening pleasure. But again that is the work of signal processing part of amplifier.
Do more expensive amplifiers sound better?
A bigger investment means more (and better) amplification. In this case, that’s your stereo receiver. For example, the Yamaha R-S202BL and the more expensive Cambridge Audio AXR100 can both deliver 100-watts per channel, but what makes the Cambridge Audio AXR100 better is the build quality of the built-in amplifiers.
How big of amps do I need?
Most homes require an electrical service of at least 100 amps. This is also the minimum panel amperage required by the National Electrical Code (NEC). A 100-amp service panel will typically provide enough power for a medium-sized home that includes several 240-volt appliances and central air-conditioning.
Do amps really matter?
With amps, the sound, as opposed to notes, is the first thing to go. A great amp strips away the artifice of sound reproduction and lets more of the music shine through. Vacuum tube amplifiers measure and sound different, some say better, some say worse than solid-state amps, but again they both play the same notes.
Can you run 220 on 100 amps?
Upgrading Your Electrical Service If you only have 50Amp or 100 Amp service running to your home currently there is a good chance that you’ll have to upgrade that service to 150 or 200 Amps in order to be able to add another 220V plug to your home.
