Do computer monitors display images in RGB?
RGB stands for “Red-Green-Blue.” Most electronic displays – monitors, LCD displays, cameras and scanners – display in RGB by default. It is an additive-type of color mode that combines primary colors – red, green and blue – in various degrees to create the color you see.
How do monitors display colors?
A monitor or TV screen generates three colors of light (red, green, and blue) and the different colors we see are due to different combinations and intensities of these three primary colors. The phosphors emit light when struck by the electron beams produced by the electron guns at the rear of the tube.
Are all screens RGB?

CMYK (Subtractive colour) CMYK is a subtractive type of colour process, meaning unlike RGB, when colours are combined light is removed or absorbed making the colours darker instead of brighter. This results in a much smaller colour gamut—in fact, it’s nearly half that of RGB.
Why do screens look weird at an angle?
The lowest cost reasonable quality color LCD panels are based on TN technology. With these panels the light from the backlight is polarized at a 90 deg. angle to the polarizer on the front of the screen, and will only pass through if the liquid crystals in between shepherd the light through a 90 deg.
