Do I need Time Machine if I have Backblaze?
Apple and Backblaze strongly recommend using a separate, dedicated drive for your Time Machine backup, and not keeping any original data on that drive. That way, if the drive fails, you only lose one copy, and avoid potentially losing both copies.

IDrive is a little clunkier to use than Backblaze, but it’s more flexible, with more options for you to change how IDrive works than Backblaze has. IDrive keeps up to 30 versions of files indefinitely, which means if you delete a file on your local storage drive you can (theoretically) pull it up years later in IDrive.

Can a time machine be stored on the same hard drive?
You can even store both your Time Machine and cloned images on the same drive, but it’s best to first partition the drive into two volumes, one for each purpose so that both can manage their allotted backup space.
