Do LEGO blocks sink in water?
Even though the ABS plastic from which LEGO® bricks are made is more dense than water, enough air is trapped in the LEGO® that it floats.
Can Legos go in a fish tank?
The longer answer is this: LEGO can go in an aquarium. Of course, you can dunk anything in water. The question is, “can LEGO be put into an aquarium with fish in it, and will the fish be unharmed?” Again, the answer is “Yes! Absolutely!”
Can a brick float in water?
A small, heavy object has higher density than a large light object. Lego bricks have many air bubbles trapped inside them. The density of the brick with all those bubbles is less than that of water – so the bricks float, no matter how many of them you stick together.
