What has happened to Flightradar24?
After 3 years of supporting two versions of Flightradar24, the old Pro and Premium app will stop working on March 30, 2020. As most users have moved to the new app and the technology running the old Pro and Premium app sunsets, we’ve decided the time is right to say goodbye to the old app.
Why do planes disappear on Flightradar24?
I was following an aircraft when it suddenly disappeared, why? In most cases, our receiver network is no longer receiving a signal from the aircraft. This tends to be more common when an aircraft is flying over large bodies of water. It can also be a technical problem somewhere.
Can military planes be tracked?
Military planes mostly do not appear on flight-tracking sites because of operational secrecy, even when they are on innocuous missions. That’s where another flight-tracking site comes in, at least for the military planes: ADS-B Exchange. (There’s no app, but it works fine on the mobile web.)
Is Flightradar24 app down?

What does no callsign mean in Flightradar24?
Just found one aircraft showing callsign (RJA112), but still no speed and track.(Also noticed that the same aircraft drops its callsign and route info a few minutes later.) Last edited by speedbird1960; 2012-01-08, 15:25 .
Where did the use of call signs come from?
A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station’s identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system.
Do you need a radio to use a call sign?
One exception to the parallelism between registration and call sign is ultralight aeroplanes in France, who are not obliged to carry a radio and indeed often don’t. Radio call signs used for communication in manned spaceflight are not formalized or regulated to the same degree as for aircraft.
