Does baking make rendering faster?
Then, when you press Render, the entire scene is rendered much faster, since the colors of those objects do not have to be recomputed. Render baking creates 2D bitmap images of a mesh object’s rendered surface. These images can be re-mapped onto the object using the object’s UV coordinates.
Does baking in blender use CPU or GPU?
The one “way” that improved baking was “#3 Use GPU.” Apparently, most likely because not everyone has a GPU compatible with Blender, Blender is not using the GPU by default when generating images but the CPU which is slower. To tell Blender to use the GPU, you click File → User Preferences → System.
Where is cache in Blender?
The cache of a baked simulation will be stored inside the blend-file when you save it. When Disk Cache is checked, Blender will save the cache separately to the drive in a folder named blendcache_[filename] alongside the blend-file.
Why is this fluid baking taking so long?
– Blender Stack Exchange Why is this fluid baking taking so long? I’ve made a simple scene (for learning purposes), but I’ve found the fluid sim baking process started taking a lot longer than what I expected (about 3 hours on one of my machines). This is for a 4s simulation with resolution 100.
How to speed up fluid simulation baking time?
How to speed up Fluid Simulation Baking time (with moving parts)? I am animating a machine that shows high pressure water running inside of the machine. With resolution for the sim set about 150, it takes half an hour to get to 9% and then slows down almost to a stop once the fluid reaches any moving parts.
How long has it taken to learn Blender?

Why is fluid SIM so slow in Blender?
Blenders fluid sim has always been a bit slow. It’s probably not the best software for something as technical as you’re doing. Thanks for the response – what package would be best? I’m not doing this to find out how the water flows – just as a demonstration of the machine working. I am an engineer, and I do 3D for fun.
