Does Danish oil soak into wood?
More of a thin oil and varnish mixture than other wood oils, Danish oil can protect wood against chemical damage, exposure to heat, superficial scratches and stains. Taking approximately 15 minutes to soak into the wood, Danish oil should only be applied one layer per day.
How long should stain dry before Danish oil?

Can I put Danish oil over stain?
Danish Oil may be applied to previously oiled surfaces. On previously stained or dyed surfaces it is advisable to test a small area first to make sure that the Danish Oil will produce the desired result. Our Danish Oil is based on Tung Oil, and is a penetrating oil which will ‘feed’ and protect wood.
Is Danish Oil clear?

Is teak oil the same as Danish oil?
Both oils are very similar, as you’ll see in the chart below. The main difference is that Teak Oil dries to a matt finish, whereas Danish Oil dries to a satin / semi-gloss finish. Unlike Tung Oil or Linseed Oil, which are 100% natural oils, Teak Oil and Danish Oil are both blends and so no two recipes are the same.

Dip cheesecloth into the solution; wring it out and let it dry until tacky for a homemade tack rag. Fold a small piece of lint-free cloth — microfiber cloths work well for this — and pour a bit of the Danish oil right from the can onto the wood project.
Can you use Danish oil to clean furniture?
Avoid using even a soft-bristle brush to scrub wood, since it might scratch the wood and cause a bigger problem than it solved. If the original danish oil finish has been coated with polyurethane or a similar sealant, you cannot clean it with danish oil. The oil will form droplets and micro-puddles, and won’t penetrate the wood.
Can you use Danish oil on wood bookcases?

Can you put oil on hand rubbed Danish oil?
Depending on how smooth the surface is, you can skip the sanding and simply buff the surface with 0000 steel wool prior to applying any oil. Now wipe on a liberal amount of oil. This second coat will not soak in like the first coat but will start building up the finish. You will be able to tell a noticeable difference to the finish at this point.
