Does Telegram use CDN?
The CDN DCs are not a part of the Telegram cloud and should be considered enemy territory. The CDN can’t access the data it stores because these keys are only accessible to the main MTProto server and to the authorized client.
Can encrypted files be edited?
You can’t encrypt a file, then modify it and pretend to be still valid encrypted.
Does Telegram have encryption keys?
Telegram does have end-to-end encryption — you just need to enable it. Telegram calls chats with end-to-end encryption enabled Secret chats. That means only you and the recipient have the decryption key, so Telegram cannot access the data. Moreover, the contents of secret chats are not stored on Telegram’s servers.
Does Telegram encrypted group chats?
We support two layers of secure encryption. Server-client encryption is used in Cloud Chats (private and group chats), Secret Chats use an additional layer of client-client encryption. All data, regardless of type, is encrypted in the same way — be it text, media or files.

Is Telegram a Client-Server?
Telegram has two modes of communication — ordinary chats using client-server encryption and Secret Chats using end-to-end encryption. Client-Server communication is protected from MiTM-attacks during DH key generation by means of a server RSA public key embedded into client software.
How are CDNs used to decrypt telegram files?
The client apps obtain the keys necessary to decrypt the file from the main Telegram server and verify the integrity of the file by its hash, which means that the CDN may only supply the correct file – anything different will be immediately discarded by the client. CDN DCs do not store files on hard disks – only in memory.
Why are CDN DCs not part of Telegram cloud?
The CDN DCs are not a part of the Telegram cloud and should be considered enemy territory. For this reason, each file that is to be sent to these CDN DCs is encrypted with a unique key using AES-256-CTR encryption. The CDN can’t access the data it stores because these keys are only accessible to the main MTProto server and to the authorized client.
What kind of encryption is used in telegram?
