Is the Dell G5 15 5590 upgradeable with m2 SSD?
06-12-2020 05:32 AM I cannot seem to find any relevant information for my specific question. Is this laptop upgradeable with m2 ssd and ram which have passive cooling? An ADATA Gammix ssd and two sticks Crucial Ballistix Memory in particular.
Can you use both a HDD and a SSD on a 5590?
I don’t know the maximum drive thickness the 5590 supports or whether it would detect both, but from looking at the Service Manual diagrams, it appears that the 2.5” drive caddy blocks access to the screw hole that is used to secure an M.2 SSD down, so I really don’t think you’ll be able to use both.

Go to Solution. 06-15-2020 09:38 AM Both my G752VY and my Dell 13 7386 are passive heat dissipation. My G752VY is now 4 years old, my 13 7386 is 1.5 years old I have never experienced a heat issue with RAM or SSD.
Are there heat sinks on a Dell g752?
My G752 does have room for heat sinks on the M.2 SSD Ports. I could probably put some low profile heat sinks on the 2. m.2 SSD I have in my 7386 I have not seen any need for that. On the 7386 the RAM is integral with the motherboard soldered in and has no heat sinks.
