Does the router go behind the firewall?
Usually router is the first thing you will have in your LAN, a network firewall is between the internal network and the router so that all flows in and out can be filtered. Then the switch follows. Then the switch connects other network devices.
How do I connect my ISP to my firewall?
Connect your firewall host directly to the modem using eth0 . It will get an actual bona-fide public routeable IP address. Configure your firewall to use eth0 as the public / WAN interface, and eth1 as the private / LAN interface.
