You can put the shortcut inside your “My Drive” or any Drive that’s shared with you.
- Go to drive.google.com.
- On the left, click Shared with me.
- Select the files or folders to which you want to add a shortcut.
- Right click the files or folders you selected. Add shortcut to Drive.
- Choose a folder.
- Click Add shortcut.
Can 2 people access the same Google Drive?
On your computer, go to drive.google.com. At the left, click Shared drives and double-click one of your shared drives. Add names, email addresses, or a Google Group. New members must have a Google account.
Do you need a Google account to view shared files?
Invitations to a shared Google Drive file or folder require a Google account to sign in to the Google Drive service. However, we can still access the Google Drive shared content by associating our existing email address with Google. Clicking the “OPEN” link will open a Google Sign In page.
How does Google Drive work with multiple accounts?
The first step is to download Shift. Once it’s installed and open on your desktop, you’ll just need to add each of your Google accounts. Click the Plus sign on the left taskbar and select Add Account. You’ll enter the first email address and repeat the process with each additional account.

On a computer, go to Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides. Click the file you want to share. Click Share or Share .
Ask the person you’re sharing with if they have a Google Account that you can share with. This could be: A work or school account they use for Google products like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides. If the person doesn’t have a Google Account, they’ll need to sign up for one before you can share the file.
Can you share folders in a Google Group?
You can share files and folders with Google Groups instead of individual people. When you add to or remove members from the group, they will gain or lose permission to the files and folders that the group can see or use.
What is access to Google Drive for desktop?
** Contributor access provides read-only access to files in Google Drive for desktop or files in the Chrome OS Files app. For example, if you share an Excel file in a shared drive with a user who opens the file in Drive for desktop, the user can only view and not edit the file.
