How do I burn a split track onto a CD?
Here’s how I do it using Audacity.
- Burn the CD track to a stereo file in a lossless format.
- Open up the file and you’ll see two rows; one row for each channel.
- Mute the channel you think has the vocals.
- Play the file and make sure you’ve muted the correct channel.
- Delete the vocal channel.
What is a split track accompaniment CD?
A split track, like an accompaniment track, or background track, is a divided track that has the full instrumentation in one channel, and then the vocals in a separate channel, so that you can use the vocals for practice and then pan them down or out for performance.
How do you remove vocals from a split track?
To isolate the vocals, rather than remove them, delete the other channel. To split a stereo track, click on the downward pointing arrow at the top of the Track Control Panel then click on Split Stereo to Mono. To delete the unwanted channel, click the [X] to left of the downward pointing arrow.
