On the permissions page for the list, on the Edit tab, click Grant Permissions. Type the name of the group or the individual you want to grant access to in the Users/Groups box. Choose the level of permissions you want the group or individuals to have. Click OK.
How do I remove access permission from a folder?
If you want to change the permission of each folder, you can do the following:
- Launch Windows Explorer.
- Right-click on a folder, then choose Properties.
- Go to Security tab.
- Click Edit under Groups or user names section.
- Highlight the user you want to remove, and click Remove.

Within the Teams experience, users can directly access SharePoint along with the other services. Each team is associated with a Microsoft 365 group and Teams uses that group to manage its permissions. For scenarios where a SharePoint site is used with Teams, we recommend doing all permission management through Teams.
If you don’t want them to access the subfolder, just delete the groups. Select the checkbox before each group, and then click Remove User Permissions on the ribbon. When to change the permissions on a subfolder?
After you have set permissions for a library, you may want to set unique permissions on one or more folders in that library. For example, you may want to create a subfolder where anyone could read and add files to a subfolder, but not the root folder or any other subfolder.
