- Navigate to the Site Pages library.
- Right-click on the page you want to make a new Homepage and choose Make Homepage.
- Just like with classic pages, you will get a brief pop-up confirming that the page has just become the Homepage!
You can change a page’s Page Layout after you have logged in and are editing the page (click the Edit icon or click on the Site Actions dropdown menu and select Edit Page). In the ribbon, click on the Page tab and click the Page Layout dropdown. Select the layout you want and wait for the page to refresh.
How to modify your SharePoint team home page?
A SharePoint 2010 team site creates a home page that you can modify to better meet your team’s needs. You can add text or images, or display your announcements, tasks, or calendar items. You must be logged into your site as a user with permissions to modify the site’s pages. That usually means you need to belong to the site’s Members group.
You can also make an existing page the homepage for your site, even if you are using a SharePoint classic site. You must be the site owner to set a different page as a homepage. The page you use as a homepage must be stored in the Pages (or Site Pages) library of your site.
What’s the difference between sitepages / home.aspx and default.aspx?
aspx is a left over from 2007 and is in the root of the virtual path. It is not stored in a library and is not the default “home” page of a Team Site. If this site is a subsite of publishing site you can set either page as the default home page, otherwise you can set default.aspx to be the default home page using code or PowerShell.
How to add an image to a SharePoint home page?
