Click on Sharing on the left side list of links to show the Sharing options screen. Set the default sharing options which can be found under the Default Link Type settings and click Save. I would suggest that you choose “Internal” which will require people to log in to Office 365 before viewing or editing a document.
Hover over the name of the file or folder and click the share icon (person). In the popup window, click Settings. Click either Link for editing or Link for viewing depending on which link you’d like to set an expiration date for. Next to Expiration, click to toggle it On.

If the default link type is set to “Direct/Specific People”, copy link will return the existing access link (as you can’t copy a link for a specific person without first naming the person 🙂 ). We’ve certainly heard the feedback around defaulting all sharing links to People with existing access.

How to activate’people with existing access’in SharePoint?
The way to activate ‘People with existing access’ by default when copying a link is to change: SharePoint Administration > Sharing > File and folder links > Specific people. It is not possible at this time to do so.
