Use the button and menu on the top right of the Map screen to set your Google Maps view. Clicking the “Satellite/Map” button will switch between satellite photographs of the globe and traditional maps; clicking the drop-down menu below it will allow you to activate and deactivate map overlays.
How can I make my location accurate?
Help your phone get a more accurate location (Google Location Services a.k.a. Google Location Accuracy)
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Touch and hold Location . If you don’t find Location , tap Edit or Settings .
- Tap Advanced. Google Location Accuracy.
- Turn Improve Location Accuracy on or off.
Why do I keep losing GPS signal on Google Maps?
You may need to update your Google Maps app, connect to a stronger Wi-Fi signal, recalibrate the app, or check your location services. You can also reinstall the Google Maps app if it isn’t working, or simply restart your iPhone or Android phone.
Where is the zoom control in Google Maps?
The zoom control: This control displays + and – buttons for changing the zoom level of the map. This control appears by default at the bottom right corner of the map. See the image of the zoom control in this section.
Where are the controls on a Google map?
This example demontrates custom positioning of the map controls. The zoom control options are placed on the left of the map and the map type controls are placed along the top of the map.
Where is the tilt and rotate control on Google Maps?
The Rotate control provides a combination of tilt and rotate options for maps containing oblique imagery. This control appears by default near the bottom right of the map. See 45° imagery for more information.
How to override the behavior of Google Maps?
You can override this behavior by explicitly setting the control to be visible. See Adding Controls to the Map. The behavior and appearance of the controls is the same across mobile and desktop devices, except for the fullscreen control (see the behavior described in the list of controls ).
