How do I convert TIFF to Ascii in Arcgis?
Method
- Open the raster layer that you wish to convert.
- In the Arc Toolbox menu, select Conversion Tools >> From Raster >> Raster to ASCII.
- In the dialogue, select the desired input raster and set the output filename. Note, there is no set extension for this file type, both .
- The DEM file is ready for reading into TUFLOW.

In ArcTool Box go Conversion >From Raster> Raster to ASCII then locate your input raster and click on output location then under Save as Type select second option “File”.

In your R code, your are talking about .grd files but I do want to convert .tif files. Secondly can you say to me what is the function system.file? Does it refer to the file path or is it for something else?
Why are there so many not numbers in TIFF?
Perhaps someone divided a raster with zeroes by another raster with zeroes, resulting in a large area of “Not a numbers”. TIFF is fine with that, it happily stores the pixels as “Not a number” codes. But what to do when you save as an ASCII file?
