How do I create a new Shapefile File?
Bring up the Editor toolbar by choosing Customize-Toolbar-Editor or clicking on the editor icon In the Editor toolbar pull-down, chooseStart Editing. The file you want to edit is your new shapefile. A new window opens on the right appears called Create Features.
