Go to Appearance > Widgets in the WordPress Administration Screens. Choose a Widget and either drag it to the sidebar where you wish it to appear, or click the widget, (select a destination sidebar if your theme has more than one) and click the Add Widget button.
A sidebar in WordPress is referred to a widget-ready area used by WordPress themes to display information that is not a part of the main content. It is not always a vertical column on the side. It can be a horizontal rectangle below or above the content area, footer, header, or any where in the theme.
The use of sidebars, a publishing term for information placed adjacent to text, is one of the design elements that can create confusion. A sidebar is detached from the main text and found in a section either off to one side of it, or above or below it, on the same page.
What is a sidebar conversation?
A sidebar usually has information that relates to the main story beside it. Sidebar alert: it also means changing the subject in the middle of a conversation. In the legal world, a sidebar has a completely different meaning—it’s a courtroom conversation between lawyers and the judge that jury members can’t hear.
Is there a widget menu on the sidebar?
Tip: Elementor’s Hello theme does not come with a widgets menu section or sidebar by default. If you are using the Hello theme, see instructions here to add the widgets menu option, which will then enable you to use the Sidebar widget. Was this article helpful?
The next thing you need to do is to head over to the Widgets panel of your WordPress back-end, locate the Footer Widgets sidebar, and add some widgets to it. Save the widgets as you add them and check the result.
Go to Content > Sidebar > Choose Sidebar, and select a sidebar to display on the page. Tip: Elementor’s Hello theme does not come with a widgets menu section or sidebar by default.
You can also edit the sidebar from the WordPress Dashboard. In the left-hand menu, select Appearance > Widgets, find the Sidebar section, and then give it a click to expand. You should now be able to see all the widgets that make up this particular sidebar. From here, you can make the following changes: Rearrange your widgets.
