Create a page layout
- In Design Manager, in the left navigation pane, choose Edit Page Layouts.
- Choose Create a page layout.
- In the Create a Page Layout dialog box, enter a name for your page layout.
- Select a master page.
- Select a content type.
- Choose OK.
The document library where page layouts (and master pages) are stored is called the Master Page Gallery. You can access this library using either SharePoint Designer 2010 or the browser.
What is SharePoint master list?
Presuming that the Master List contains a field that specifies which project each list item is for, then add IF statements in the workflow for each project. Inside the IF statements use the Create Item workflow action to create an item in the appropriate project list.
You can change the layout of content on a SharePoint site by changing the location of the content placeholder controls. You may, for example, choose to add more content to the right side of the page. You could do this by adding it to the right side of the master page. Important: When you customize master pages, avoid deleting content placeholders.
How to create a custom master page layout?
To create a new master page or page layout, first we go to Site Settings under the site that we want to apply our customized pages. In Site Settings, look for Master pages and page layouts under Web Designer Galleries as shown in the picture: In the master page gallery, we can see a full list of existing page layouts and master pages.
