- Make the Repository a property on your unit of work.
- Don’t create the Unit of Work directly, use a factory for that.
- Make the factory a dependency of your class.
- In your test pass a mock of the factory to the class you are testing that returns a mock of the Unit Of Work.

How to unit test an object with database queries?
Now in your unit test, you create a mock of FooDataProvider, which allows you to call the method GetAllFoos without having to actually hit the database. A common mocking scenario, in a nutshell. Of course you will still probably want to unit test your actual database calls too, for which you will need to hit the database.
How to unit test methods that call other methods inside same?
Also allows for testing if a static Func was called from another method since static methods can not be mocked. Easy to refactor existing methods to Funcs/Actions since the syntax for calling a method on the call site remains the same. (For times when you can’t refactor a method into a Func/Action see cons)
Can a static method be used in a unit test?
The UserDao class wraps data access logic in its static methods, so it requires database access to do its business. If it was an instance method, we could extend it for our unit tests and overwrite the methods as needed. That’s actually a basis for our first solution to this problem.
Is there a way to do a unit test?
One of the problems I have found with unit testing is there are a lot of people writing about the theory of TDD and Unit Testing and a lot of people writing about how to do simple Unit Testings (Assert.Equals (accountA.Balance, accountC.Balance).
