Download Directly from OSM Simply go to www.openstreetmap.org and find the area you would like to download data for. Hit the “Export” button and you will see a screen with the Extent of the download appear. You can customize this download as either the “current extent” or manually select an area by bounding box.

Where can I find the open street map add on?
The Open Street Map add-on is available only in the development version of Blender, inside the folder…\\2.78\\scripts\\addons_contrib\\io_scene_open_street_map.py and you can get it by simply downloading a development version from here. Due to those problems I tried Blender Geo Addon which can import buildings in 3D, judging by this awesome video. It seems it has everything I need, except for these annoying issues (for me): Only buildings that make use of osm’s key building:height are extruded.
