How do I enable external display on Touchbar MBP with broken screen?
First, a very generic one where you need to close the screen lid.
- Hook the LCD display to the Mac with the appropriate adapter.
- Hook up the external keyboard and mouse (optional but recommended)
- Boot the MacBook with the broken screen, then close the screen during boot.
Why is my external monitor not working?
The issue may have something to do with the output port on your device or the input port in the monitor. Try switching ports to check if that resolves the problem connecting to the second monitor. Restart your PC to check if that fixes the issue. Try connecting your second display to a different device.
What to do if your external display is not detected?
If the cable from your external display doesn’t connect to the ports on your Mac, you can use a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C adapter. If your display appears blurry If images or text on your display appear blurry or pixelated, check the resolution and brightness of your display.
How can I get my external display to wake up?
On the panel for the external display, choose one of the rotation options. (Seems that forces the system to give itself a kick and the external display will wake up, albeit upside down.) Helpfully, there’s a ‘Revert’ button already focussed. Just press Enter on your keyboard and it’ll spin back around. Done.
