Export the external list to Excel
- Navigate to the SharePoint site that contains the list.
- On the Quick Launch, select the name of the SharePoint list, or select Settings.
- Select List, and then select Export to Excel.
- If you are prompted to confirm the operation, select OK.
- In the File Download dialog box, select Open.
Export to an Excel workbook
- From the command bar of the list, select Export > Excel Workbook.
- If needed, select OK > Open after the file download begins.
- If prompted and you trust the SharePoint site, in the Excel security page, select Enable.
How to export a SharePoint list to excel?
If the filtered view then returns less than 5000 items, retry to export the list to excel and it may normally work this time. If the error still exists, I suggest you to connect Excel to a SharePoint list data source.
Why is my excel not exporting to my list?
The root of your issue is that there are too many records in your list and they exceed the list view threshold (5000 items). So “Export to Excel” may work abnormally. Per my understanding, you want to export items in the last 7 days to an Excel file every day and save it as a record.
“You do not have permission to view the entire list because it is larger than the list view threshold enforced by the admin.” Am I not able to export a smaller set of records from the view? Attachments: Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.
How to refresh a SharePoint list in Excel?
1) Connect Excel to a SharePoint list data source. 2) Set filter condition in Command text: Go to Connections from top ribbon->Connections->Properties->Definition: Refresh: 3) Save the Excel file as a template file. Then you can open the template file every day and click “Refresh”, the items refreshed in your list last day will be updated.
