What is bin sh command?
/bin/sh is an executable representing the system shell and usually implemented as a symbolic link pointing to the executable for whichever shell is the system shell. The system shell is basically the default shell that the script should use.
How do I start bin sh?
The procedure is as follows:
- Create a new file called demo.sh using a text editor such as nano or vi in Linux: nano demo.sh.
- Add the following code: #!/bin/bash. echo “Hello World”
- Set the script executable permission by running chmod command in Linux: chmod +x demo.sh.
- Execute a shell script in Linux: ./demo.sh.
What is in sh command?

I need help with command rm in my operational system. the command is working fine until last week and now when i run rm , the operational system say “-bash: rm: command not found”. I’m already checked the directory /bin and not traced binary file rm .

The running shell will not pick new modified $PATH. export $PATH and then run script. OR run script in a new shell/terminal. If possible part of script too. Also as quick solution. u can source your home dir .bashrc and .profile file in your script. This way u will have all your alias / PATH available for script.
