Where is visual editor on WordPress?
This is the default editing mode for WordPress, but if it does not appear to be enabled, you can select the Visual tab in the top right corner of the editor area, as depicted below.
Did WordPress change their editor?
After updating to WordPress 5.0, you will notice that the new default editor for posts and pages has changed from the Classic Editor to a new Block-style editor. The Block Editor (called the WordPress Gutenberg Editor) is an entirely new way to edit posts and page content in WordPress.
Why is my WordPress editor not working properly?
WordPress editor is not working as expected. If you encounter that the WordPress editor does not work properly, e.g. icon tools in the editor are missing completely, editor is not showing up at all or anything else, then this can have many reasons.
If you’re using the classic WordPress editor, then sometimes buttons from the visual editor may disappear or start showing blank white spaces instead of buttons. This problem may occur when concatenated JavaScript is not working.

How do I disable visual editor in WordPress?
On the left-hand side, go to Users > Your Profile. Check the box beside Disable the visual editor when writing. At the bottom of the page, click the blue Update Profile button. Hard refresh the page using Ctrl + F5 (Windows users) or Cmd, Shift, and R (Mac users). Uncheck the box next to Disable the visual editor when writing.
