On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window. Do any of the following: Hide or show the sidebar: Choose View > Hide Sidebar or View > Show Sidebar. (If Show Sidebar is dimmed, choose View > Show Toolbar.)
Why is my Mac toolbar not showing?

It is possible somehow the Sidebar became hidden by pulling the center bar that separates the Sidebar from the right side viewing pane to the LEFT. Make sure your Finder/View has Show Sidebar; then try placing your mouse to the far left and see if you get an “i” bar so you can drag it to the right which will make the Sidebar viewable again.

Why is the sidebar not showing my favorites?
To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. The Sidebar isn’t working. It says Favorites (Nothing being shown) and Devices (Everything shows up). I can go into the prefs and hide and show the devices and it updates as I toggle what to show.
