How do I get rid of the y-axis in origin?
To change the axis scale range manually:
- Double-click on the X, Y, or Z axis to open the respective Axis dialog box.
- Select the Scale tab.
- Select the axis icon from the left panel.
- Type your starting axis scale value in the From text box.
- Type your ending axis scale value in the To text box.
- Click Apply.
How do you make a line graph on touch y-axis?

- Select the Chart and go to the Layout tab (that is visible only when you select a chart).
- Click the Axes button and go to Primary Vertical Axis and then More Primary Vertical Axis Options…
- You will now be in the Format Axis window.
- Hit Close and that’s it!
How do you plot the y-axis?
Double-click on a data point or click on the Format Graph button on the Prism toolbar. At the bottom of the Appearance tab, select “Right Y axis”. Repeat for each data set to be plotted on the right Y-axis.

From the Origin menu, choose Preference:Options. In the Options dialog, click the Axis tab, then next to the Unit Display for Axis Title box, click the menu button and choose the desired display option (e.g. / for Long Name / Units in place of Long Name (Units)).

To add a range of data to an existing line, scatter, line + symbol, column or area graph:
- Highlight your worksheet data.
- Click on the graph window to activate it.
- From the Origin menu, choose, Insert: Plot to Layer: Graph Type.
Do graphs start at 0?
Data in a line chart is encoded by position (x, y coordinates), whereas in a bar chart data is represented by length. (Bar charts should always start at zero – I’ll explain why in my next post.) It’s ok to start a line chart at a non-zero value but there are some things you should be aware of before you do so.
Do all graphs have to start at zero?
Providing context to your reader is helpful as it’s answering the question, “compared to what?” But following an arbitrary rule that all graphs should start with 0 doesn’t make sense. In fact, it may introduce more confusion than it is purportedly solving. There isn’t an objective graph.
