When you’re ready to add someone to Project Online, start by adding users:
- Choose Users > Active Users from the left menu on the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- At the top of the list of users, choose + Add a user.

Why do I need to sync my project manager with SharePoint?
Synchronizing also saves the .mpp file to the site assets for future editing. The Project Manager must be part of the SharePoint Owners group (or at the least have designer permissions) on the parent site collection where the new or existing site resides. Synchronization goes the other way, too.
