How do I import an animation to FBX?
Importing Animations
- In the Content Browser, click the Import button.
- Locate and select the FBX file you want to import.
- Click Open to begin importing the FBX file you want to import to your project.
- Update the appropriate settings in the FBX Import Options dialog.
Can FBX store animation?
FBX files store all the data for complete animation scenes. This data includes bones, meshes, lighting, camera, and geometry. Eventually, FLM was adapted to support visualization of 3D data, such as characters in scenes.
Can blender read FBX?

Looking at Blender Market, Ive found at least two Blender addons which seem to have enhanced FBX export (Better FBX Import/Export and Auto-Rig Pro), so that’s a potential option… Click to expand… I would prefer to get rid of fbx entirely and use something else.
Is there a blender exporter for unity FBX?

Can a FBX skeleton be imported into Blender?
Seems like built in FBX importer wants to keep some joints separated yet parented after importing into Blender. I got a standard humanIK skeleton file which should be fine, but when imported into Blender, it will have non-connected joints mostly on other side of x-axis and in spine.
Why are animations not exported to FBX in Unity?
I have 2 animations currently on a sword that I have modeled and when I export the object as a fbx into my game engine Unity it seems to not bring the animations along with it. Here are the export settings: and here is what it looks like when imported into Untiy:
