How to monitor the performance of a secondary replica?
SQLServer:Database Replica object has a list of counters that are used to monitor the performance of the secondary replicas of an availability group. The SQLServer:Database Replica object is used only for SQL Server databases hosted on a secondary replica.
Can a secondary database be a publisher in replication?
When the replication agent restarts after failover, the connection will automatically be redirected to the new primary. In an availability group a secondary database cannot be a publisher. Republishing is only supported when transactional replication is combined with Always On availability groups.
What happens when there are only two availability replicas?
When the publisher has only two availability replicas (one primary and one secondary) and a failover happens, the original primary replica remains down because the log reader does not move forward until all secondary databases are brought back online or until the failing secondary replicas are removed from the availability group.
Where to find availability replica in SQL Server?
The Availability replica section of this tab lists all of the instances that are part of this availability group, whether they are the primary or secondary instance and each instances synchronization state.
