If you can “View only”
- Open the file.
- Click Request edit access.
- If you want, add a note to the owner of the file.

Why is a sheet I own view only?
The reason you don’t have the access you want to certain sheets is that the file’s privileges have been changed by the file’s owner and that option was not enabled. We suspect the “issue” is due to uninformed behavior about this by one (or more) of your collaborators.
